Welcome
If you have issues with anxiety, self-esteem, struggling with self worth or boundaries, then I am here to help partner with you to develop strategies to reach your goals. It doesn’t matter if you are a teen trying to fit in at high school, transitioning out of high school and into college, parenting issues, mid-life crises, etc., together we can create a safe place for you to make the change you want.
I help those who live on any point of life’s timeline and struggle with issues that include, but not limited to ADHD, Adoption, anger, anxiety, communications, depression, family systems, feeling sadness, frustration, grief/loss, guilt, identity, parenting issues, pregnancy, postpartum issues, relationships and trauma.
My goal is to help create a meaningful change within a safe and authentic environment. Using a down to earth approach and humor, I will strive to make your goals approachable & remind you that reaching your goals doesn’t need to feel like such a heavy load.

My name is Ruth Krochmalny
I was born in South Korea and adopted into the United States as an infant, after being found abandoned in a bomb shelter and brought to an orphanage by missionaries. I am forever grateful for the opportunities my life here has given me.
I have spent over 30 years in education, with the last 20 years serving as a high school counselor.
I’ve had the privilege of working with students facing challenges such as suicidal ideation, anxiety, ADHD, academic struggles, and social issues. I have also written 504 plans, collaborated on Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and worked closely with parents, staff, and administration to support student success.
My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simpson University and a master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of La Verne. In 2015, I became a therapist and began seeing clients in the afternoons alongside my school counseling work. When COVID-19 arrived, I closed my practice with plans to reopen it after retiring from the school system.
As a more seasoned human being, I draw on both my professional expertise and my personal life experiences — including raising a blended family of seven children and enjoying four grandchildren. I especially enjoy working with individuals navigating adoption, ADHD, the aging process, anger management, effective communication, depression, family issues, grief and loss, guilt, parenting, pregnancy and postpartum transitions, relationships, and trauma.
I believe in collaborating with clients of all ages to help them clarify their goals, identify their strengths, and move toward the life they want to create.
